Miss Transsexual crowned
- Tuesday, 9 February 2010
Chelsey Mikimoto, a transgender showgirl from Melbourne, was crowned Miss Transsexual Australia 2010 in the country’s first-ever beauty pageant for transsexuals and transgenders, held at Melbourne’s Bar 362 last week.
Mikimoto, who cites Australian transsexual actor, model and dancer Estelle Asmodelle as her role model, said she was not trying to be spokesperson for the transgender community, but to be seen as a happy human being.
Other runner-up prizes were awarded to Thai international student Jessie Kraus (second runner-up), Malaysian-born transsexual performer Aneeta Mooi (third runner-up) and engineer Alexandra Melati (fourth runner-up).

Australian publishers – a disappointment
Two US publishers are interested in the book – but the issue there is – it will be marketing to a US market – where are all the business minded Australian publishers.
It is still early days with these new publishers but it looks promising.
Many seem to be interested in Sex Business more than Anaesthetic Dream – which is very strange – perhaps it’s the title.
The publishing world in this economic time, especially within Australia, is one of complete apathy and short-sightedness.
ANAESTHETIC DREAM WITH PUBLISHER
Rockpool publishing in Sydney, loved the book and took a real interest in publishing. However, with the down turn in the economy, they are not publishing anything right now.
While this is a great insight, that an Australian publisher liked the book, will continue to seek an international publisher overseas.
Anaesthetic Dream – progress and photos
Although the auto-biography of my life, the life of Estelle Asmodelle, is now complete and comprises some 580, there is still the issue of photos.
I’ve decided to have three sections within the book with photos.
- Early photos: comprises 8 pages of photos, and starts from childhood up until the SRS.
- After SRS photos: comprises 10 pages of photos, and starts from after surgery, includes the transsexual centerfold photos, and the issue of the first birth certificate for a transsexual within Australia. Also has many photos of my TV appearances with celerities, etc.
- Recent photo review: comprises 12 pages of photos, and is a pictorial from 1995 to 2005, of photos in centerfold poses, and also fashion and glamor poses.
The photos are about 80% done and then it’s simply a matter of preparing the material for the publishers. Although a couple of other items has to be completed:
- A full chapter breakdown
- A synopsis
- A page about the author
- Back page blurb
This should be about it, and with the contents, 580 pages of the book, the 30 pages of photos, the book will total over 610 pages. Not a small book by any standard.

Anaesthetic Dream – the novel – is now complete
The novel: Anaesthetic Dream has now been completed. In all, there are 576 pages of text, in the form of 22 chapters.
The chapters are complete and a final read through is in progess to ensure that there are no typos or gramatical errors. Additionally, I am preparing the photograph pages to go with the 22 chapters.
All in all, with the table of contents, photo pages, and forward the book will be approximately 600 pages. Quite a large book on anyone’s standard.
Hopefully it will go to the publishers quite soon.

Medical science is a progressive thing…
A quote that I removed from the book, is as follows, but it seems a shame not to publish it somewhere, for there is something reassuring about it:
Medical science is a progressive thing; it’s the sum total of our knowledge applied to our human existence. In the back of an old diary I’d written an anonymous quote that seemed appropriate: “When science finally reaches the summit of human experience it will only verify that religion had been there all the time.”
Chapter 20 of Anaesthetic Dream – 532 pages complete
Chapter 20 of Anaesthetic Dream deals with definitions, among other things, and one definition I have issue with is the word Transgender. Please read this segment from Chapter 20:
” Many people incorrectly refer to pre-operative and post-operative transsexuals as transgender. The word was becoming more popular but I never liked it for several reasons. Mainly because it is non-specific as many people who simply feel they have both male and female psychological components often identify as transgender. Also gender is often seen as a psychological aspect, while sex is the physical manifestation. Perhaps before a person becomes transsexual they are transgender, but certainly not afterwards.”

Ectopic Pregnancy – mentioned in AnaestheicDream.com
Chapter 20 of Anaesthetic Dream (see www.anaestheticdream.com ) is 60% done, in terms of content it has been the most difficult chapter in the book, for it covered controversial issues, and one in particular is:
A quote from the book is:
“On further reading I discovered a complication of pregnancy, which rarely occurs but in some case had lead to a successful birth: Ectopic Pregnancy. It is when the fertilized ovum is implanted, by accident, into a different organ other than a uterus. There has been cervical, ovarian, tubal (Fallopian tube) and abdominal ectopic pregnancies.”
Book progress and publicity
The book Anaesthetic Dream – is progressing very well. Chapter 19 is now complete and soon too will be Chapter 20. The total size of the book will be closer to 600 pages than 550. It is quite a large novel, by conventional standards and will be a little over 150,000 words.
Chapter 19 is concerning the publicity at that time, and as many people who read the book may be interested in the details of that publicity, which is not covered in detailed, and so I’ve decided to have a gallery of all media, newspaper & magerzine artciles, show promos, and book & film promos, etc., all published online.
There are literally hundreds of items to go into this gallery – I have already created the gallery and will soon launch it – for readers of my blog, there is a preview at this link, but it is not actually open to the public as yet:

Currently working on Chapter 20 – there are 22 Chapters in the book – so hopefully it will be complete by Christmas.
There are also going to be many photos and front cover items, some nude photos and an old photo from my childhood as well – as it should also be a visual journey as well as a literal one.
Soon more information on the publishers comments.
Anaesthetic Dream
Completed chapter 18 – three more to go – there will probably be about 600 pages in all – with photos – far too big for 1 novel – maybe it should be in two parts.
Anyway – Christmas is the deadline and I will do everything possible to meet it.
